Commercial Diplomats Regulation Authority: Advocating Responsible Education and Practice
Established with delegated pioneering regulatory authority, CDRA activities include justice and judicial, standardization enforcement and impactful better regulation of, and contribution to responsible and more efficient commercial diplomatic profession, education and practice. The council is maintained through transparent regulatory environment.
Umbrella of CDRA
As the oversight regulator of the commercial diplomatic profession, the umbrella of the CDRA covers career commercial diplomats (including but not limited to ambassadors, policy advocates, government trade representatives and negotiators, arbitrators, policy-makers and government officials involved in global trade, investment and commercial issues, counselors, IIA negotiators and experts, academia, private sector and IGO representatives, officials in government ministries, corporations, academic, public and private institutions) worldwide.
Regulatory Arrangements
CDRA's regulatory arrangements are transparent and open. Members of CDRA are distinguished persons and practitioners with recognised integrity, knowledge and expertise. They are familiar with the research, development and specialized programmes of the global professional body, and are selected with independent input, as proposed by the Governing Council of the professional body (ACCD).
In accordance with its mandate, the organization's objectives are to:
- source, research and develop curricula, projects and training modules which analyse key global developments
- support and strengthen capacity to prevent, measure and act against indiscipline and unauthorised practices
- unite in one body those who are interested in responsible commercial diplomatic practise and the unique field of commercial-judicial diplomacy through inter-diplomatic forums
- develop the capabilities of practitioners to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large
- collaborate and conduct training courses with new and long established trusted institutions: intergovernmental organizations, diplomatic academies and professional institutes in all regions
- engage in conceptual and empirical research that advances the understanding of the role, dynamics and impact of corporations in the creation of sustainable social, environmental and economical value
- interact with practitioners to extend the knowledge of their challenges in meeting social and environmental responsibilities and to explore jointly effective approaches to meeting these challenges
- facilitate and support dialogue and debate amongst practitioners, educators, government, civil society organizations and other interested groups and stakeholders on critical global issues
- respond to the ever-advancing and ever-growing complexities of commercial diplomatic practise and service
- encourage the establishment of uniquely-competent and friendly diplomatic institutions, which can lead to better and a more concerted focus on equality and competency for practitioners of commercial diplomacy

- provision of relevant-related examinations and impartial accreditation for prospective practitioners and experienced professional practitioners
- provision of appropriate impartial accreditation for qualified diplomatic institutions and vocational education and training providers that display an outstanding passion for the development of effective, efficient, highly-skilled and highly-competent practitioners, and contribution to the development and advancement of responsible commercial-judicial diplomatic practice (i.e qualified institutions)
